Blog Post Week 9- Meredith

I can’t believe it’s done! I’m so glad that I was able to create this project (the link is above). It is far different from what I had pictured at the start of the summer, but I think it came together nicely. It was a bit stressful at times, and the mapping work got a bit crazy, but I am glad it came together in the end. This project has been a lot of fun to create, and I hope I can grow the collection of case studies that this project analyzes.

Learning about various digital tools, even without using all of them in my actual project, was more rewarding than I thought. I feel a lot more tech savvy, and more capable of figuring out how handle the challenges that come with technology. This knowledge will definitely come in handy in the classes I take in the future, and especially in cases where I am making presentations. I also feel more confident in my ability to conquer independent scholarship. I came into this summer with a lot of apprehension about conducting my own research , but I’ve found that you don’t mind the work when it’s a topic you are interested in.

I was nervous about presenting my research, and I usually hate presentations, but it was actually a lot of fun showing my final project. I found a sense of pride in being able to show my work, and I hope my enthusiasm for sustainability rubbed off on the audience! It was a great end to the summer, and this experience will be one that I draw upon in the years to come.

Thanks so much for letting me be apart of this awesome program!!
